Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars is back for another week and there’s plenty of new surprises in store.

One contestant has been sent home and another will pack their bags as the search for Australia’s first Food Stars continues.

In Episode 3, the teams will face two very different challenges, alongside an Australian sports megastar who happens to be a force in the drink market.

“To help you ace this challenge, we’ve brought in a special guest,” Janine Allis announces. “This guy really knows how to make an impression…”

Before you know it, tennis superstar Nick Kyrgios pulls up to the rooftop garden in a very flash sports car that’s admittedly too small for him.

The brief? Nick Kyrgios has entered the drinks business with his brand new sports drink, Alive.

“We want to test your ability to seal big deals,” Gordon Ramsay explains.

Each team has 75 minutes to “entertain and schmooze” seven of the biggest players and buyers in the hospitality sector, and convince them to sign the dotted line.

A nervous Nick sees Gordon ‘lose it’

The teams have less than 24 hours to plan their event, design an amazing signature drink and develop their game-changing pitch for the buyers.

Team Gordon are off to a better start than last week’s “embarrassing” performance, and believe they have an advantage hosting the “thrill of a lifetime”.

The perfect event for a sports drink, right?

With Gordon and Nick watching on, things start going horribly wrong for the team.

“I’m really nervous,” says Nick as Gordon intervenes. “I knew Gordon was going to lose it at some point.”

The crime in question? Julie is serving pumpkin sandwiches, which sounds a lot worse when Gordon explains it:

But the horror show doesn’t stop there. It’s now time for Team Gordon to pitch their presentation.

Ethan and Christiana lead the pitch but the team come unstuck on one simple question: “What is the health rating?” one buyer asks.

“You are kidding me,” Gordon says in disbelief and the star chef is literally banging his head on the table:

Team Janine face some tough questions

Eager to turn their first win into a winning streak, Team Janine’s event preparation is in full swing.

Ash is designing their signature cocktail, while drink experts Sophie and Mason are working on the pitch.

Team Janine have embraced a “wellness” theme for their networking event, hosting a luxury spa day.

But the team is in full-force sales mode, killing the buzz on the buyers’ “relaxing” foot massage.

“This doesn’t seem very relaxing,” says Nick concerned.

“They’ve actually made it quite intense,” Janine worries.

Then came the one question Team Gordon absolutely bombed on. Janine and Nick watch on as Team Janine face the hot seat:

“That was phenomenal,” says Nick over the team’s impressive pitch. “I want to take my shirt off and dance here naked.”

It’s no surprise Team Janine take home the win, and Team Gordon head straight to the grilling.

One food dream comes crashing

Six remain on Team Gordon and tonight, one will be sent home.

“Pumpkin f–king sandwiches,” Gordon mutters under his breath.

The chef calls their presentation a “car crash” and points the blame to three contestants.

“Christiana, Julie and Ethan – you three are seconds away from leaving this competition,” he warns. Catch Gordon’s tough decision in the video here:

“I’m done,” says Gordon as he dismisses Christiana before offering his team some words of advice: “Get down, dig deep and try harder.”
