Novak Djokovic Under Fire: Serena Williams’ Ex-coach Unleashes Criticism Over Alleged ‘Unprofessional’ Behavior

The Indian Wells Masters clash between Novak Djokovic and Luca Nardi had plenty of drama. During the second set, the current number one player objected to the chair umpire over a non-hindrance call after his Italian opponent momentarily stopped mid-point and then casually pushed the ball back over the net. With that incident still on his mind, Djokovic had an ugly net exchange with Nardi, which later caught the attention of many, including Serena Williams’ ex-coach, Rennae Stubbs.

While congratulating his 20-year-old opponent for his victory, the Serbian player had words with Nardi at the net, which translate to: “It’s not fair, but well done.” Reacting to the same, Stubbs recently came forward to lash out at Djokovic for his ‘unprofessional’ act on the court.

In the latest episode of Racquet’s Rennae Stubbs Tennis Podcast show, the Australian coach shed light on the controversial BNP Paribas Open incident between Djokovic and Nardi. She said, “If your opponent isn’t playing quote unquote, I’m putting in air quotes playing the point thing crush him and you looking at the guy and then he gave him sh*t at the net? That was so unprofessional. In my opinion, you cannot be like, Dude, you’re wrong.

As she issued her candid take on the Serb’s ‘unprofessional’ act, Stubbs opened up about how the young Italian player was like a ‘poor kid.’ She said, “Hey, but well done. It’s like the poor kid he was as the poor kid looked like he’d just been scolded by his dad. And he was just like, he didn’t know whether to celebrate or be like, Oh my god, I just, this is the best day of my life. But my dad just told me I suck as a human being. I was like, Oh, poor guy. “

With her recent unfiltered remarks, the Australian coach would have undoubtedly irked the ‘Djoker’s’ fanbase. However, this is not the first time that Stubbs has issued some controversial statements about Djokovic.

Serena Williams’ ex-coach on how Novak Djokovic is more ‘obsessive’ to win than his arch-rivals
In a previous episode of her podcast show, Rennae Stubbs talked about the reason why she thinks that the Serb is more obsessed with winning on the court than his arch-rivals, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. The former tennis player said, “I think Roger and Rafa definitely personified wanting to win a lot but it’s obsessive to Novak and you can see it.”

Stubbs added, “He wants to put the numbers up because he knows he’s not going be as popular worldwide as Roger and Rafa.” What do you think of the Australian tennis coach’s controversial statements about Novak Djokovic? Let us know in the comments section.
