Hollywood Brown Extends Contract With Chiefs: Surprising But Promising Decision That Will Excite Fans!

Kansas City Chiefs fans were pretty psyched when the team signed Marquise “Hollywood” Brown in free agency last year. Unfortunately, Brown was injured in the Chiefs’ preseason opener and that led to him missing the majority of the regular season.

The offense did look improved when he returned, however, as Brown’s presence helped create space for both DeAndre Hopkins and Xavier Worthy. In his two regular season games, Brown tallied nine catches for 91 yards. He had five grabs for 50 yards in the playoffs.

With the Chiefs losing Hopkins in free agency, Travis Kelce not looking like the same guy he once was, and Rashee Rice rehabbing from injury, re-signing Brown was a much-needed move. Brown said it was a move that he wanted to happen all along.

Hollywood Brown's reasoning for re-signing with Chiefs will have fans fired up

“I knew all along, I wanted to be back,” Brown said while speaking to the media. “They voiced their opinions of wanting me back and we had some unfinished business. I know I had a great start to my camp and getting hurt, you know, it’s just we all wanted to see it come together, so glad we got it done.”

This is exactly what Chiefs fans want to hear and hopefully Brown and the team can take care of that ‘unfinished business’. The team had a disappointing end to their season, losing in Super Bowl 59 to the Eagles and missing out on the chance to repeat. While the Chiefs can’t pull off the three-peat next season, they can still get back to the Super Bowl and add another trophy to the case.

We never really got to see what Brown could contribute last year so hopefully 2025 is when we finally get that chance. What will the offense look like with a full season of Brown catching passes from Mahomes?

The only worry with Brown is that he’s had issues staying healthy during his career. He hasn’t played in every regular season game since 2021 when he was with the Ravens. The Chiefs are going to need him to remain healthy in 2025 because, as mentioned above, Kelce is nearing the end of his career, Rice is still rehabbing from an injury, and the Chiefs lost Hopkins and Justin Watson in free agency.
