Jets Introduce Aaron Rodgers at News Conference After Trade - The New York Times

With the first big wave of NFL free agency finally behind us, the Green Bay Packers have made a few updates to their jersey numbers. As a refresher, it was reported the Packers would be signing OL Aaron Banks and CB Nate Hobbs when free agency opened. Last week, the Packers also added WR Mecole Hardman. Their official jersey numbers have been announced, so you can all begin beefing up your gameday gear.

Aaron Banks will be wearing #65, previously occupied by DL James Ester, who the team signed in January of this year. Ester will now be wearing #98. The last Packer to wear #98? DL Abdullah Anderson, in 2021.

Mecole Hardman will be wearing #6, previously worn by QB Sean Clifford. Clifford will now be on his third jersey number as a Packer with #16, as he previously changed from #8 last season when the team signed RB Josh Jacobs. Please tell me there’s at least one human being on this earth (not Sean Clifford) who will have the complete Clifford jersey collection, PLEASE.

Nate Hobbs has big shoes to fill, with his jersey number being #21 (elite jersey number, if I may say so myself). This jersey was most recently worn by CB Eric Stokes, who is now with the Las Vegas Raiders. The big shoes Hobbs has to fill, as we all know, belong to Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. Just kidding (ha ha). I’m of course talking about beloved Packer and HOFer Charles Woodson, who wore #21 for seven seasons in Green Bay.
