Dodgers Set Rotation for First Week of Regular Season…ANHTRUC.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have officially set their starting rotation for the first week of the 2025 regular season.

Nasty, But Wild: Roki Sasaki Makes Recent Baseball History in Los Angeles Dodgers Deb

Left-handed pitcher Blake Snell, who joined the Dodgers on a five-year, $182 million deal this offseason will get the Opening Day nod Thursday against the Detroit Tigers. That’ll be a battle of Cy Young winners, as the left-handed Tarik Skubal is starting for the Tigers.

On Friday, the Dodgers will turn to right-handed pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto for what will be his second start of the 2025 season.

Yamamoto started Opening Day of the Tokyo Series, where he pitched five innings of one-run ball against the Chicago Cubs, allowing just three hits with one walk while striking out four.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto is through five innings for the Dodgers on Opening Day in the Tokyo Series:

3 H
1 ER
1 BB
4 K

He’s at 72 pitches and has generated 11 swings and misses.

While Tigers haven’t named a starter for the second or third game of the series, the Dodgers have rookie right-hander Roki Sasaki pitching Saturday’s series finale against Detroit.

In his MLB debut in the second game of the Tokyo Series, Sasaki pitched three innings, allowing one hit with five walks and three strikeouts.

The Dodgers are off on Sunday, before starting a three-game series with the Atlanta Braves.

Tyler Glasnow is scheduled to make his season debut on Monday, March 31, while Dustin May is set to make his return to the mound on Tuesday, April 1.

Glasnow returned this spring after missing the last two-plus months of the 2024 season due to an elbow strain. Before the injury, Glasnow set career-highs in starts (22), innings pitched (134), and strikeouts (168). He made his first career All-Star appearance, and will look to build upon that success this year.

Finally, May will make his emphatic return to the mound nearly 23 months after his last regular season start in May 2023. The right-hander had a Tommy John revision surgery in 2023, and then surgery to repair a torn esophagus in 2024.
