His 2024 season was cut short due to a back injury that required surgery, casting doubt on his NFL future, especially after he re-signed with Miami for what was thought to be his final career year. “If you really know me, you’ll know I’m someone who prefers to stay out of the spotlight,” Lamm stated in his Instagram Reel.

“I’m not particularly fond of a lot of attention and being in the limelight. Football has always been a part of my life. When I underwent that back procedure at the end of last year, I was serious about it possibly being my last season. But those who know me understand that not leaving on my own terms doesn’t sit well with me. So, I’m incredibly grateful for this chance.

Dolphins, Kendall Lamm agree on deal to bring tackle back

“I want everyone in Miami and South Florida to know I’ll always treasure those moments. They were the best football experiences of my life, and to everyone in the locker room I was fortunate to be a part of, thank you sincerely. South Florida will always have a special place in my heart, and I’ll smile when reminiscing about those days.

I’m thankful for this opportunity with the Eagles and grateful to be able to play again.” The Eagles will be Lamm’s fifth team in the NFL, following previous tenures with the Houston Texans (2015-18), Cleveland Browns (2019-20), Tennessee Titans (2021), and Dolphins (2022-24). He has participated in 119 NFL games with 44 starts, 16 of which were with the Dolphins.

Dolphins LT Kendall Lamm suffers injury vs. Patriots

LAMM DEPARTURE NOT UNEXPECTED Free agency is familiar ground for Lamm, who had signed one-year deals to return to the Dolphins in the past two offseasons. The notion of him rejoining the Dolphins for a third time faded when the team acquired swing tackle Larry Borom from the Chicago Bears as a free agent.

Lamm was among four unrestricted free agents on the Dolphins’ offensive line, alongside guards Robert Jones, Liam Eichenberg, and Isaiah Wynn. While it would have been logical for the Dolphins to re-sign him for a third full season, only Eichenberg has been brought back, with Jones now with the Dallas Cowboys, Lamm joining the Eagles, and Wynn remaining without a team for 2025.
