THE San Francisco 49ers are locked in negotiations with star quarterback Brock Purdy over a lucrative new deal.
Purdy, 25, is in the final year of his initial rookie contract and is now eligible to negotiate an extension with the 49ers.

As the 262nd overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, Purdy wasn’t expected to become one of the league’s top throwers.
But after breaking into the 49ers team during the 2022 season, ‘Mr Irrelevant’ led San Francisco to the NFC Championship before going all the way to the Super Bowl the following year.
Despite that impressive form, Purdy has been locked into his four-year $3.7m rookie deal.
But now he’s set to bank almost 15 TIMES that number if he gets the deal he’s expected to agree.
That’s according to Fox Sports’ NFL insider Jordan Schultz, who claims that Purdy could land up to $55MILLION with a new deal at the 49ers.
It’s also said that San Francisco are confident that Purdy is the future of the franchise, despite an extension not being imminent.
While they have also put a deadline date of the start of the 2025 season to get the deal over the line.
Schultz said: “There’s no doubt who the 49ers’ quarterback of the future is: Brock Purdy.
