His head hit the ground with significant force, and he appeared to display the fencing response while lying on his back. DuBose lay motionless on the field as medical staff quickly attended to him, removing his jersey and facemask, and stabilizing his head with a neck brace. Emergency medical professionals attended to him for over 10 minutes.
