LATEST NEWS: Tyreek Hill addresses trade rumors, offering little assurance of his return to the Miami Dolphins in 2025. nhathung

Almost every NFL enthusiast knows two things about Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill: he’s incredibly fast, and he doesn’t hesitate to stir things up on social media or when speaking to the press. While he’s not exactly the typical diva wideout, he certainly enjoys a bit of drama.

On Sunday, he reminded everyone of this by responding to growing rumors about a possible trade that might see him playing for a different team in the 2025 NFL season. Hill initiated the trade talk by announcing to the media that he planned to leave the Dolphins after the season. He then reacted on X to posts suggesting he’s a top trade prospect in the league.

The conversation began when salary cap expert and Over the Cap founder Jason Fitzgerald answered a query on the social media platform about potential big trade candidates for draft night, naming Hill as “probably” the top one.

This sparked discussions, and Hill reacted to three posts about the subject. He shared Fitzgerald’s post with a peace sign emoji, a signature symbol for Hill both on the field and online. Later in the day, he posted the same emoji again. Earlier, he used a smiling emoji to share a post that asked Dolphins fans if they would be open to trading him, which elicited a range of responses.

Hill has been a standout for the Dolphins over his three seasons with the team, achieving over 1,700 receiving yards in two of those years. In 2024, his performance dipped to 959 yards, but it was a challenging year for the whole offense since Tua Tagovailoa missed five games. The Dolphins are undoubtedly stronger with Hill, yet in the NFL, multiple factors come into play.

Hill is set to earn $27.75 million in 2025, and a trade might offer the front office some financial flexibility. At 31 years old, if Hill no longer wishes to stay in Miami, the team might entertain the right offer. Judging by his social media behavior, it seems Hill isn’t trying to avoid a trade; in fact, he appears to be in favor of it.
