Kansas City boss Andy Reid is highly thought of among NFL head coaches.
Andy Reid has won three Super Bowls and will go down as one of the greatest coaches in the history of the league. Perhaps that is why NBC Sports NFL writer Patrick Daugherty ranked him as the best coach in the NFL.
Maybe Chiefs Kingdom fans are already secure in this knowledge, but just in case …
This is good news on Reid.
Daugherty ranked the 10 best coaches in the league and Reid was at the top, right where you would expect him to be. There is no coach, who is active, that is better than Reid. His record speaks for itself.
Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay came in second to Reid. He is also a very good coach. He helped the Rams win Super Bowl LVI during the 2021 season and has taken them to the playoffs six times.
John Harbaugh is the third coach on the list. He has made the playoffs 12 times since taking over the Baltimore Ravens in 2008. He helped the Ravens win Super Bowl XLVII during the 2012 season. Harbaugh came to the Ravens after a successful stint with the Philadelphia Eagles as their special teams coach.
San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan and Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni finish out Daugherty’s top five. Shanahan has taken the 49ers to two Super Bowls but lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in both of them. He was an extra-point away in 2024 from defeating the Chiefs in the rematch.
Sirianni won Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans in February, defeating the same Chiefs who beat the 49ers the year prior.
The rest of the list is rounded out by Jim Harbaugh, Dan Campbell, Mike Tomlin, Sean McDermott, and Matt LaFleur.
They’re all good. But KC fans know – and are comforted by – who’s No. 1.
