Despite an array of star players, the Atlanta Braves have struggled early in the season. They could look to make a trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers to try and turn things around.

The Braves are 3-10 to start the year. To be fair, their season started with three tough matchups, the Philadelphia Phillies, San Diego Padres and Dodgers. They are also without Ronald Acuńa Jr., but all of that still doesn’t justify just three wins. Newsweek’s Zach Pressnell proposed this trade that could help turn things around for the Braves:

• Braves receive: outfielder James Outman and right-handed pitcher Bobby Miller
• Dodgers receive: right-handed pitcher Owen Murphy, right-handed pitcher Garrett Baumann and shortstop Jose Perdomo

“In this deal, the Braves would land two forgotten Los Angeles Dodgers stars to give them a second shot at the big leagues,” wrote Pressnell. “James Outman doesn’t have a clear path in Los Angeles’ outfield, but he would play in Atlanta, at least as a platoon option. Bobby Miller certainly doesn’t have a path to playing time with the Dodgers, but he could slot in Bryce Elder’s role as a member of the Braves.”

The Braves lost Jurickson Profar for 80 games and the postseason after a positive PED test. Outman could earn some playing time on the Braves, as there is no real spot for him on the Dodgers. Even with Andy Pages struggling, offseason addition Hyeseong Kim has been playing centerfield in Triple-A. Outman seems like the forgotten man in the Dodgers outfield.

Miller is in a similar situation as Outman. He struggled last season after a strong rookie year. He is in Triple-A, but the Dodgers have so many capable starting pitchers that he may never crack the rotation.

Both players were once top prospects in the Dodgers’ organization. However, the Dodgers’ affinity for spending on star players has pushed them out of the mix. They could be contributors on the Braves if the team is willing to give them a chance.
