Aidan Hutchinson and the Detroit Lions were Super Bowl contenders last season. However, the Lions had to play without Hutchinson for a majority of the year.
During a game against the Dallas Cowboys, Hutchinson broke his leg while sacking quarterback Dak Prescott.
Even without its star pass rusher, Detroit continued to win at a high level. At the end of the season, the team had compiled a 15-2 record and the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Sadly, the Lions were defeated by the Washington Commanders in their first playoff matchup.
Early on in the offseason, Detroit has received some major news about Hutchinson’s injury status.

While making an appearance at the Masters, Hutchinson revealed where he’s currently at in his recovery process. It’s great news for the Lions.
“I’m there. I’d say I’m good,” he said. “I’ve got my last evaluation tests when I get back — I leave today and I go back tomorrow to the rehab — I’m gonna finish those evals and once I knock them out of the park, I’ll be on my way and done with rehab. It was a long process, I’ll tell you that.”
Hutchinson giving the “all clear” is huge for Detroit. He will be able to put in more work throughout the remainder of the offseason to gear up for the 2025 season.
Throughout his young career with the Lions, Hutchinson has played in 39 total games. In those appearances, he has racked up 122 total tackles to go along with 28.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, four interceptions, and 10 defended passes.
There are few defensive players capable of making a bigger impact than Hutchinson. Having him back on the field will make Detroit an even more serious threat in the NFC.
