World No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz has reflected on a challenging 2024 tennis season. The four-time Grand Slam champion won two Grand Slam titles during the year but surprisingly finished as the No. 3 player in the world.

The Spaniard has been in the United States, participating in exhibition matches at Madison Square Garden. He discussed the physical issues he faced in the second half of the season but remains hopeful for a strong 2025.

Alcaraz had a strong start to the 2024 season. Despite an early exit at the Australian Open, the 21-year-old bounced back by winning the BNP Paribas Open.

His highlight of the year came after June when he joined an elite group of players to win both Roland Garros and Wimbledon in the same season. However, his form declined after losing the Olympic gold medal match to Novak Djokovic. He won just one more title and suffered early exits at both the US Open and the ATP Finals.

Carlos Alcaraz and Frances Tiafoe recently spoke about their friendship off the court. Both are exciting players on the ATP Tour and are known for their entertaining styles. They played one of the most memorable matches of 2024 during the Wimbledon Championships.

This week, Alcaraz played two exhibition matches in the United States. On Wednesday (December 4), he defeated Ben Shelton at Madison Square Garden. On Friday, he played against Tiafoe at the Charlotte Invitational, where the crowd enjoyed a thrilling contest.

Alcaraz started strong, winning the first set. Tiafoe, wearing a Charlotte Hornets jersey to excite the home crowd, dominated the second set, losing just one game. The match ended with a tight tiebreak, where Tiafoe edged Alcaraz 5-7, 6-1, 1-0 (11-9) to secure a victory on home soil.
