During the third quarter of the Chiefs’ “Sunday Night Football” clash against the Chargers, Kelce snagged a 7-yard pass from Patrick Mahomes, advancing the ball to the Chargers’ 47-yard line.
This catch propelled Kelce’s career receiving yards to over 12,000, as noted by the Chiefs. Kelce, appearing in his 172nd career game, reached this milestone in record-breaking fashion. The previous NFL record was held by former Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez, who achieved it in 210 games.

In his 12th season, Kelce has already surpassed a couple of Gonzalez’s Chiefs records: for pass receptions and receiving yards. Both Gonzalez and Kelce are tied for the most touchdown receptions in Chiefs history, with 76 each.
