Don’t think Shedeur Sanders’ slide out of the first round of Thursday’s NFL Draft was a big deal?
Well, President Donald Trump weighed in on it on Friday, admonishing NFL owners for not yet taking the Colorado quarterback.
“What is wrong with NFL owners, are they STUPID?” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Deion Sanders was a great college football player and was even greater in the NFL. He’s also a very good coach, streetwise and smart. Therefore, Shedeur, his quarterback son, has PHENOMENAL GENES, and is all set for Greatness.
“He should be ‘picked’ IMMEDIATELY by a team that wants to WIN. Good luck, Shedeur, and say hello to your wonderful father.”
Sanders was expected to be a first rounder, and potentially a high pick, in Thursday’s first round. Heading into Friday’s second round, obviously, he is still waiting to hear his name called.
As for Deion, he was hit was a brutal community note on Elon Musk’s X earlier in the day on Friday.
The Sanders family has never lacked for confidence, and they have never shied away from letting folks know it.

That is fine when you are winning, but when you just took a draft night punch to the gut, well … the internet never forgets.
So, folks went and dug up a post on X from Sanders’ father and Colorado head coach Deion Sanders from last May. Sanders posted about haters, and he got a response from a follower that said, “Tell yo son stop act like he the coldest out here then put up a 4-8 season.”
Sanders reposted that and responded, “He will be a top 5 pick. Where yo son going? Lololol I got time today. Lololol.”
Not only did folks find it, but they made sure it got a community net on X. That note simply read,” Shedeur Sanders was not a top 5 draft pick.”
Sanders did not respond to the note, but he did take time to agree with someone who called ESPN analyst and former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky “a hater,” for giving a breakdown critiquing Shedeur’s tendency to take unnecessary sacks.
He also shared a religious post.
“My bible says God uses the foolish things to confound the wise & he chose the weak things of the world that he may put to shame the strong!” he wrote. Please know God ain’t done & God is just really getting started. Enjoy this lesson & keep stressing. #CoachPrime”
