Former third-round pick tops list of Vikings who could be on the move after NFL Draft..anhtruc.

We are just two days removed from the NFL Draft, which means we are officially onto discussing what the 2025 season will look like for the Minnesota Vikings. They made five picks during the NFL Draft, acquired quarterback Sam Howell via trade, and 20 undrafted free agents.

There is a lot of excitement about the 2025 Vikings squad, especially after the NFL Draft had them fortify the offensive line in front of J.J. McCarthy. It’s not an issue anymore after the acquisition of Donovan Jackson at 24th overall.

Who are the Vikings players that could potentially be on the move? With how the Vikings have constructed the roster, the list isn’t very big, but there are players who could be on the move if the right offer comes around.

ILB Brian Asamoah II

After a rookie year that saw Asamoah thrive in limited action toward the end of the season, a change in defensive coordinators to Brian Flores saw a massive decrease in playing time. Some of that was due to the scheme, but Asamoah didn’t show enough improvement to earn significant playing time, instead getting beaten out by Ivan Pace Jr.

There is still ability with Asamoah, especially with his speed and aggressiveness. He likely wouldn’t bring much of a return back, nor wouldn’t the VIkings likely move him before the end of training camp, but his job is firmly in jeopardy.

LG Blake Brandel

The only player for the Vikings who lost his job was Brandel. He started at left guard all of last year after signing a three-year, $9.5 million contract. It wasn’t necessarily viewed as a contract of a starter, but he got the starting job and thrived next to Christian Darrisaw for six games. The 11 games after Darrisaw got hurt? Not so much.

Brandel is likely going to be the swing guy on the offensive line, especially since he was a left tackle in college. There is a chance someone could see Brandel as a long-term starter and offer the Vikings a late-day-three pick.

DT Levi Drake Rodriguez

He was viewed as the most interesting prospect in the NFL Draft last year having been named Kalyn Kahler’s Prospect X. He immediately became a fan favorite the second he got into the building and showed a little bit in training camp that he could be a guy.

With the selection of Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins, the final three defensive tackle spots will be a tough battle. Taki Taimani is more of a nose tackle as his role is different from that of Ingram-Dawkins, Rodriguez, and Jalen Redmond. A good preseason might not be enough to save his job, and a team might be willing to give up draft pick compensation for him.
