Harrison Butker – Kansas City Chiefs kicker caused a stir when he strongly condemned abortion as a ‘great evil’ and publicly voiced his support for anti-abortion views.

Harrison Butker continues his fight for the unborn and deems fetuses as being oppressed due to their inability to fight for themselves.

Harrison Butker is fondly known as ‘The Buttkicker’ because of his ability to make game-winning field goals. However, in the past few months, he has been on the receiving end of those kicks. Ever since he delivered his controversial graduation speech at Benedictine College, Butker has been hit with critical comments from fans who turned on him and the wives and girlfriends of his teammates.

Despite the backlash from his speech, Butker did not recant his statements but rather went on to propagate them with twice the effort as before. The placekicker has since been bold and taken every opportunity to urge his fellow Catholics to stick to their roots and values, which they have continued to uphold for centuries.

Butker’s orthodox thoughts have made him a revered figure within the Catholic community. His criticism of former President Joe Biden‘s leadership resulted in him scoring a good reputation with President Donald Trump, who recently met him in the White House. During Butker’s speech, he raised his objections against abortion and the Biden-led government’s pro-abortion stance.

As a staunch Catholic, Harrison Butker opposes abortion, and he doubled down on his take in a recent interview on InDepth Extra.

Butker aims to raise awareness to stop what he views as the ‘massacre’ of unborn children through abortion. Since they are not fully formed humans yet, they do not have the same rights or powers as a human, and that costs them their lives.

The pro-life movement is dear to Butker’s heart for another reason. His wife Isabelle had not one, not two, but three miscarriages, and the impact of the incident continues to sting them to this day.

The rational school of thought, which opposes the pro-life movement, brings up instances wherein abortions are deemed medically necessary. In certain situations, all signs point toward a miscarriage, and there is a good chance that the mother’s life is put at risk.

In such cases, if abortion is not an option, then it could prove disastrous and end up costing two lives instead of one. Butker views such scenarios from a different perspective.

Despite the dark impact of a miscarriage, Butker believes that with faith, one can get through anything. His take will attract criticism, but the man is propagating the principles of his faith, and he has a right to do that.

Irrespective of one’s stance on it, there will always be dissent from a faction because of how sensitive the subject is. Upholding Catholic values and banning abortions results in debates on restricting women’s right to decide what’s best for their bodies. Today, 16 States in the U.S.A. recognize the right to abortion, whereas the rest have placed restrictions on it or completely banned it after the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs V. Jackson.
