Josh Allen has had an unforgettable year so far. The Buffalo Bills quarterback got off to a hot start to the season and has since remained consistent. While he was considered a frontrunner to win the MVP early on in the season, after viewing his performance over the last two weeks, there should no longer be any debate about who deserves to win the award.

Despite losing to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 14, Josh Allen came out swinging. The quarterback finished the game with 342 yards, three passing touchdowns, and three single touchdowns, a historic feat regardless of the final score.

His performance was so good that Rams HC Sean McVay could not help but heap praise on the quarterback.

Josh Allen is an alien. He’s a nightmare to defend and so…I don’t think you can just sit back and let him navigate the pocket. He can beat you from the pocket, he can beat you with his mind, he can beat you with his arm, he can beat you with his legs. That’s why he’s a legitimate MVP candidate and he’s one of the best players in this league.

Sean McVay spoke highly of Allen in his postgame press conference

Although Allen dropped a masterclass on the occasion, he could not deliver the win. It was a closely fought game between the two teams and the Bills fell short of beating the Rams by 3 points.

Josh Allen is the favorite to win the MVP this season

When an opposing team’s head coach speaks with such high regard about a quarterback he won against, it serves as a testament to the player’s greatness. Josh Allen has been on a rampage this season. The quarterback has thrown for 3,033 yards, has 23 touchdowns, and just five interceptions.

The fact that he contributed to the Bills offense by passing the ball efficiently and by using his legs without committing a single turnover is beyond impressive. Under his leadership, the team has clinched the AFC East. His leadership skills needed to be lauded as despite playing a stellar game, the quarterback held himself accountable for the team’s loss.

In his postgame press conference, Allen said that the team “did not play up to its standards” and that “it starts with” him doing his job. After his historic performance on Sunday, Josh Allen is now the MVP favorite as per FanDuel Sportsbook.

The race to win the coveted award was close between him and Eagles running back Saquon Barkley. However, now the Bills quarterback has -450 odds to win the award as opposed to Barkley’s +550 odds.
