BREAKING: Promising detail finally emerges for DeMarvion Overshown from nightmarish situation for Cowboys linebacker-baobao

The Dallas Cowboys’ 2024 season took a horrible turn on Monday Night Football when linebacker DeMarvion Overshown suffered a knee injury that immediately looked like trouble, as the rising star was in visible pain on the field.

After further testing on Tuesday, it was confirmed just how gruesome Overshown’s injury was: He suffered a torn ACL, MCL, and PCL. Not only does the news means he’s out for the season but it even puts his 2025 into question, which means many things.

On a colder note and from the Cowboys’ point of view, it means linebacker has become one of the team’s top needs going into 2025, as Overshown’s timetable to return will be difficult to predict.

For Overshown, it means he’s got a humongous challenge ahead. He’ll have to undergo a tough rehab that will demand a lot from him and he’ll have to overcome the mental challenges that come with back-to-back season-ending injuries.

But believe it or not, there’s a small detail that provides a silver lining for Overshown amid the nightmarish situation he’s facing.

According to FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz, “there was no meniscus damage to his knee and the articular surface looks good. In other words, no nerve damage.”

The report is highly important, as having nerve damage would mean Overshown’s entire career would be in jeopardy. By no means does it mean the rehab will be easy but it certainly helps.

The Cowboys know a thing or two about nerve damage, as they bet on Jaylon Smith back in the 2017 NFL Draft even after he suffered a brutal injury as a Notre Dame player. While Smith had a strong second year in the league, health was consistently a problem for him and his athleticism quickly decayed.

Only time will tell how well Overshown’s rehab goes but at least there’s a glimmer of hope fans can cling on following the terrible news about the rising star.
