In a development that’s stirring emotions in Titletown, Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur has publicly addressed the growing rumors surrounding former franchise quarterback Aaron Rodgers — particularly the possibility of Rodgers signing with one of the Packers’ NFC rivals.
When asked during a recent press conference about the prospect of Rodgers donning a different uniform — possibly that of a division opponent — LaFleur didn’t mince words.
“I’ll always respect Aaron and everything he did for this organization,” LaFleur said. “But if he ends up across the sideline from us — yeah, we’re treating him like any other threat. No special treatment. This is football.”
Rodgers, who spent 18 seasons in Green Bay and led the team to a Super Bowl title, is currently under contract with the New York Jets, but speculation continues to swirl about his future as he nears the final stages of his career — especially following a major injury that sidelined him for most of the 2023 season.
