UPDATE: Bills find their replacement for CB Rasul Douglas in recent NFL 2025 mock draft.TS.THANHDUNG

The Buffalo Bills are one of the last teams that fans are paying attention to in terms of the 2024 NFL draft, but it’s still important to see what talent Buffalo could draft next offseason. SItting at 10-3, the Bills are more focused on the playoffs and the improvements that need to be made on defense going into the rest of December and January.

Texas v Arkansas

No matter what happens this season, Super Bowl or not, there are going to be some changes once again next offseason. The cap issue the Bills are facing could mean that we see some fan favorites heading out of Buffalo to create space. In addition, has young talent that just hasn’t worked out and they could be on their way out of Buffalo.

Brandon Beane and his team have to be on the lookout for players that will be available in the 20s of next year’s draft due to them making the playoffs this year. While there may not be any big names that drop to the Bills, that is where they can find true value that was overlooked by the teams in front of them.

Bills find their replacement for Rasul Douglas in recent mock draft

Mike Renner from CBS Sports posted a recent mock draft and Renner has the Bills at No. 29 and selecting Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron. With Douglas being in his last year of his contract with the Bills, Barron would be able to step in opposite of Christian Benford and develop into a lockdown corner.

“Jahdae Barron has been lights out all season for the Longhorn’s vaunted defense. He’s got five picks and five pass-breakups on the outside this year after spending the past two years in the slot. Barron is NFL-ready and could take over free agent Rasul Douglas’ role.”

Right off the bat, Barron provides versatility as he can play in the slot and outside. That automatically sounds like a perfect fit for a Sean McDermott/Bobby Babich type of defense. He more than likely would get the nod to start over someone like Kaiir Elam, who has not lived up to his first-round expectation from 2022.

While it would make sense for the Bills to try and bring back Douglas on atleast a one-year deal, they may not be able to afford it. If that’s the case, Buffalo will have no choice but to address the secondary. Benford has developed into a sneaky shutdown corner himself, but the Bills will need to find someone who can compliment him.
