UPDATE: Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver earns promotion at college job.TS.THANHDUNG

Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Ryan Switzer has earned a promotion at Tulsa. Switzer was named the interim head coach at Tulsa after they fired head coach Kevin Wilson, but even after the team hired former East Tennessee State Tre Lamb, Switzer will remain on the staff as the wide receivers coach and pass game coordinator, a promotion from his previous gig as just the wide receivers coach.

Browns wide receiver Ryan Switzer, pictured as a member of the Steelers, said his 9-month-old son is stable after undergoing surgery to stop bleeding.

Switzer had been in his second season with the Golden Hurricanes as their wide receivers coach before Lamb was hired.

Switzer joined the Tulsa staff after retiring from the NFL in 2022 due to injuries. The 30-year-old had always wanted to get into coaching following his playing career, and now he gets a taste of the highest level of coaching on a gameday.

Switzer was a legend at the University of North Carolina, where he was a standout for four seasons and a two-time All-American.

In his playing career, Switzer played for the Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns, Oakland Raiders, and the Steelers. He spent two seasons with the Steelers after they traded for him. The Steelers released him in 2020.
