Novak Djokovic, a 24-time Grand Slam champion, is regarded as one of the greatest athletes not only in tennis but in all sports. In a recent interview, the Serbian shared his thoughts on the greatest athletes across various sports.

He mentioned Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan in basketball, as well as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in football. However, when asked about the greatest in tennis, he chose to stay silent. Many fans believe he already knows the answer but has decided not to disclose it.

Regardless of who the greatest in tennis is, there is no denying that Djokovic was part of the sport’s greatest era alongside Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. The trio have won a combined 66 Grand Slam titles over two decades, marking one of the most dominant periods in the history of sports.

Federer broke the Grand Slam record in 2009, surpassing Pete Sampras. Nadal later surpassed Federer’s tally at the 2022 Australian Open. Eventually, Djokovic broke the Grand Slam record at the 2023 Roland Garros, claiming his 23rd title.

The Qatar Open 2025 has been upgraded to an ATP 500 event, significantly enhancing its appeal to top players. Jannik Sinner has already confirmed his participation, and Novak Djokovic will also compete in Doha from February 17 to 22.

The tournament is strategically positioned in the calendar, providing players with sufficient time to recover after the Australian Open. It also offers an excellent opportunity to prepare for the major hard-court events at the start of the season, including Indian Wells and the Miami Open.

Fans are eagerly awaiting confirmation on whether Carlos Alcaraz will join Djokovic and Sinner to create a stellar lineup. Alcaraz may choose to participate or opt for a break, as this stage of the season provides various alternatives.

In recent years, Karen Khachanov and Daniil Medvedev have emerged victorious in Doha, with Roberto Bautista Agut securing the title in 2022. Djokovic, a two-time champion, joins a distinguished group of past winners that includes Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Andy Murray. The Qatar TotalEnergies Open 2025, the women’s tournament, is scheduled to take place a week earlier, from February 9 to 15, and is expected to feature the world’s top players.
