Patrick Mouratoglou talked about whether the collaboration between Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray would be a success or not. And while doing so, he commented on if Djokovic, under the guidance of Murray, would be able to overcome the two talented youngsters Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.

Both Alcaraz and Sinner outclassed Djokovic this season on the tour. The Serb lost the Australian Open semifinal and the Shanghai Masters final to the World No. 1, while Alcaraz defeated him in the Wimbledon final for the second time on the trot.

To tackle the Alcaraz and Sinner problem among others, Djokovic, who had been coachless since March, hired Murray in November. As per Naomi Osaka‘s coach, Djokovic, who will be 38 next season, will find it tougher to win over Sinner than Alcaraz.

Murray had retired at the Paris Olympics after losing in the quarterfinals. Djokovic however emerged as the champion in singles by overcoming Alcaraz in the final.

Jannik Sinner‘s game is often considered to be like Novak Djokovic. He has beaten the Belgrade native four times in their eight matches and would be hoping to continue his winning ways the next season. Patrick Mouratoglou explained how Djokovic, despite his age, would be able to beat Sinner, who lifted eight titles in 2024.

While Sinner will arrive in Melbourne as the defending champion, Djokovic will be chasing his 11th Australian Open, last clinching the title in 2023. The 2024 Australian Open was the 23-year-old’s first Major, after which he doubled the tally at the US Open.
