Dallas Cowboys: Dak Prescott could be the worst thing that could happen to the NFL

Since 1995, the Cowboys have failed to advance beyond the divisional round, but the Dallas team has pinned all its hopes on its quarterbackDak Prescott. In fact, they trust him so much that they have made him the highest-paid player in the NFL

However, some experts claim that this could be counterproductive, not only for the quarterback or the Cowboys, but for the league as a whole. Prescott has a salary that is at least $5 million a year more than any other player

What’s most alarming is that Prescott’s salary with the Dallas Cowboys exceeds that of Jordan LoveJoe Burrow and Josh Allen; even the contract that Mahomes has with the Chiefs.

And while no one can deny that Prescott is a great QB, some question whether he deserves to be the highest-paid player in the NFL or whether he deserves to have a contract of this magnitude, as not even football legends have achieved a salary of this amount

Although many fans and analysts doubt that Prescott deserves a contract with the Cowboys of this caliber, considering his results and that, in past seasons, he has suffered several injuries

How much does Dak Prescott make?

Dak Prescott earns $60 million a year. Prescott’s contract with the Cowboys states that the team will pay him $240 million, of which $231 million is already guaranteed. With a contract of this magnitude, Dak ranks as the 4th highest paid athlete in the world; only behind Cristiano Ronaldo, Stephen Curry and Tyson Fury.

Can Prescott lead the Cowboys to the Super Bowl?

However, since Dak Prescott arrived in Dallas in 2016, the quarterback has not been able to push his team to a conference final, let alone a Super Bowl, so many believe that with a contract of this caliber, Prescott has an obligation to take Dallas to at least a conference final.

And Prescott is aware of all the pressure on his shoulders, even expressing that: “I want to win a Super Bowl for my personal well-being, for my sanity. I have to stay firm in that goal”. It remains to be seen if in the Cowboys’ upcoming games, Dak will live up to expectations.
