The Green Bay Packers surprisingly won’t have cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee) and predictably won’t have safety Javon Bullard (ankle) against the Seattle Seahawks. Tight end Luke Musgrave, who’s still on injured reserve with an ankle injury but had his 21-day practice window opened this week, will not be activated.
Other than that, though, there are good reasons for the team to be happy about its health status.
Head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed on Friday that wide receiver Romeo Doubs and safety Evan Williams have cleared the concussion protocol, which means they will be available to play in Seattle on Sunday Night Football.
And there is more.
Edgerrin Cooper
The rookie linebacker, who missed the last three games with a hamstring injury, will be back in the lineup against the Seahawks. LaFleur stressed how Cooper is important for the defensive structure of the team.
“He’s doing a really good job. It’s gonna be great to have him back out there,” LaFleur said. “He obviously brings an element in terms of his speed and athleticism. Adds another dimension to our defense.”
Center Josh Myers (pectoral), edge defender Lukas Van Ness (thumb), and tackle Travis Glover (illness) have been full participants and are expected to play. Defensive tackle Kenny Clark and left guard Elgton Jenkins have been listed on the report, but it’s just veteran rest and they will play. Beyond the ones previously mentioned, the players who have been limited at practice this week are cornerback Corey Ballentine (knee), linebacker Isaiah McDuffie (ankle), tight end Luke Musgrave (ankle), and left tackle Rasheed Walker (knee).
Ballentine is questionable, and the rest of the group is off the injury report and good to go.
