Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Donte Jackson is dealing with a pinched nerve in his back, he told Steelers Now on Tuesday.

Jackson first suffered the injury in Week 14 against the Cleveland Browns, but was later able to return to that game. Against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Jackson went down on his back in the second quarter and did not return.

Jackson said that he had an MRI after the game that revealed the nerve damage. He said the injury flares up sporadically, depending on how he moves. The injury against the Eagles happened when he was trying to shed a block.

Jackson said he’s trying to play this Saturday against the Baltimore Ravens, but his status remains up in the air. Right now, he’s taking it day by day, trying to rest his injured back before testing it out later in the week. He did not practice on Tuesday.

Jackson is one of a number of players that can be considered questionable this week, including starting outside linebacker T.J. Watt and wide receiver George Pickens.

“None of these six guys could be characterized as ‘out’ as I sit here today,” head coach Mike Tomlin said on Monday.
