When the roof of a railway station in Novi Sad collapsed at the beginning of November, causing deaths and injuries, Novak Djokovic took to X to offer his condolences to those affected by the disaster. This time, the Serb urged the authorities to listen to the voices of the youth.

The unfortunate tragedy led to widespread demonstrations in the country as they accused the authorities of corruption, negligence, and irresponsibility. The railway station has been renovated twice and the protesters are convinced that corruption is the main reason behind poor work.

Students have also come out on the street to protest, demanding documents about the renovation of the railway station. They are also accusing President Aleksandar Vucic of manipulating the media.

Djokovic, who was born in Belgrade, which is about 100km away from Novi Sad, the second largest city in Serbia, has now given his remarks on the protests.
