Since Novak Djokovic announced his partnership with Andy Murray, positive reactions have been coming in from all directions. Many from the tennis community are convinced that the partnership will bring positive results, and Grigos Dimitrov‘s coach Daniel Vallverdu is also of the same opinion.

Djokovic added Murray to his team following his split from Croatian coach Goran Ivanisevic. It will be Murray’s first coaching job since his retirement at the Paris Olympics. The Venezuelan tennis coach Vallverdu thinks both Murray and Djokovic will give their all to achieve the goal of the Serb, which is to win the Australian Open.

Djokovic didn’t win a trophy on the tour in 2024 and was slamless for the first time since 2017. It was only the gold medal in the Olympics that he won. Now that he has set his sights on the Australian Open with Murray as his coach, Vallverdu ‘can’t wait’ to see how these two old players use their experience to challenge the youngsters.

John McEnroe didn’t want to talk about the Big 3, that is Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer. He appeared in Served with Andy Roddick podcast and Roddick questioned the 65-year-old about not there being stats that were established before the Big 3.

McEnroe however lauded the Big 3 for not making the mistakes he did in his career after tasting success. He said when he performed better than the other players, he became complacent and didn’t improve certain parts of his games.

Because of this, McEnroe has respect for the Big 3 because despite accomplishing one feat after the other, they didn’t stop working on their game. McEnroe retired after clinching seven singles, nine doubles, and one mixed doubles in Grand Slam events.
