Why Will the Jets Release Rodgers?

Recent reports from Jeff Howe in conversations with three NFL General Managers all came to the consensus that the smart move with a new head coach and GM is to release Rodgers. If they release him as a post-June 1st cut they’d save significant money and it’s a move similar to the Broncos and Russell Wilson.

There’s a chance the new Jets management keep Rodgers and draft a QB high in the draft, but with the turmoil of the 2024 season and Rodgers being the oldest NFL QB, it doesn’t make sense to keep him on the team.
