The Kansas City Chiefs Will Replace Travis Kelce With Gunnar Helm
The Kansas City Chiefs are 12-1 and looking at a potential three-peat this season. If the Chiefs were to go and win three straight Super Bowls, there’s a reality that Andy Reed retires that Travis Kelce retires, and the Chiefs have to do serious re-tooling because of their accomplishments that they were achieved. Over the past three seasons, Kelce has dealt with the multitude of injuries and has been on record stating that the regular season isn’t as much of a focal point as the playoffs is. In previous postseasons, Kelce has looked injured, has looked slower, and it’s clear that the intensity of the tight end position has caught up to Kelce very similarly to Rob Gronkowski.
The Chiefs should draft Gunnar Helm, the tight end from Texas to replace Travis Kelce this season. Gunter Helm is my favorite TE prospect from this year‘s class and he truly is a do it all tight end. He’s got that talent to win 50-50 balls along the sideline, he’s got the speed and wiggle to to win over the middle of the field such as seam routes, and he’s got absurd hands.
This draft class is filled with studs from Harold Fannin Jr,, Tyler Warren, Colston Loveland, but Helm is a guy who has the chance to boost his draft stock in the college football playoffs. Regardless, he has shown that he can be a star TE at the NFL level from his yards after the catch ability as well as his well-roundedness.
The Chiefs currently have Jared Wiley from TCU on the roster. I’m a huge fan as I believe he could replace Travis Kelce, but if I’m the Chiefs I’d be willing to spend second round draft capital and I truly believe he could be Patrick Mahomes’s next number one target.
