Football fans are convinced that the NFL refs are “rigging” the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans game after a bizarre game-changing call in the second quarter.
The NFL refs haven’t been able to avoid the accusations that they favor Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, who have unquestionably been on the right end of some questionable calls this year. Saturday’s home tilt with Houston was no different.
In the second quarter of Saturday’s clash, with the Texans up 10-7, it appeared as though the defense forced a fumble on Mahomes to take over possession. But the officials curiously deemed it an incomplete pass and also flagged Derek Barnett for “roughing the passer” on the KC quarterback:
And with that, fans wasted no time ripping on the NFL refs and accusing them of “fixing” the contest for Kansas City.
Replay review allows officials to determine all turnovers, including if an “incomplete pass” actually went forward. But the roughing the passer call against Barnett was definitely a questionable call, and the fact it came at a pivotal part of the game means only further scrutiny for the officials.
