Rashan Gary and the Green Bay Packers’ defense were absolutely dominant on Monday night, making history by becoming the first team to pitch a shutout during the 2024 NFL season. The Packers utterly overwhelmed the New Orleans Saints in a 34–0 victory, and after the game, Gary was beyond fired up with energy.
As quarterback Jordan Love was being interviewed by sideline reporter Lisa Salters, Gary decided to add some unexpected excitement to the moment. With no warning, he sneaked into the frame and unleashed his enthusiasm, loudly cheering for Love. Salters, completely caught off guard, flinched in shock when Gary suddenly started yelling into the mic. It was clear she wasn’t expecting this interruption.
“Stop playing with him!” Gary shouted excitedly about Love, his voice booming as he gave his enthusiastic support. Salters ducked away, startled, before she realized who was behind her. Once the initial shock wore off, Gary shouted again, “Once again! Punch the ticket!” before giving one last enthusiastic bark into the microphone and walking off, leaving Salters laughing and shaking her head.
It was certainly not your typical postgame interview, but it perfectly captured the joyous and fired-up mood inside the Packers’ locker room, especially after clinching a playoff spot. Gary’s energy was contagious, and it added a fun, unexpected moment to the night.
As for Gary’s performance on the field, he had a solid game, contributing two tackles and recovering a fumble in the shutout win. The defensive end has been a key player for the Packers this season, playing in all 15 games and recording 6.5 sacks and 41 tackles. With his passion and leadership on full display, Gary is proving to be a force both on and off the field.
