Packers Announcer ‘Admonished’ Fans for Chant on Monday Night -bb

On Monday night the Green Bay Packers dominated the hapless New Orleans Saints, who entered the game without starting quarterback Derek Carr and star running back Alvin Kamara.

Missing those two key pieces of the offense – along with wide receiver Chris Olave – the Saints didn’t do much on the offensive side of the ball. The team managed less than 200 yards of offense en route to a 34-0 loss.

According to ESPN, it was the latest into a season before the first shutout of the season – and there’s never been a season without a shutout.

“The defense played ball,” Packers cornerback Keisean Nixon said, via ESPN. “A shutout in the NFL is the hardest thing to do, and to do it on prime time is even harder, and to clinch a playoff berth doing that is a hell of a deal.”

As the Packers were dominating their opponent, the home fans at Lambeau Field couldn’t help but take a shot at a bitter rival. They chanted “the Bears still suck” at one point while the team was on offense Monday.

According to one report, the public address announcer asked the fans to stop.

“If you’re wondering what it’s like to be at this game right now… the Lambeau Field PA announcer just admonished the crowd for chanting ‘the Bears still suck’ while the Packers are on offense against the Saints,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said.

Green Bay improved to 11-4 on the season but is still two games behind the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings for the NFC North lead. The Packers clinched a playoff spot on Monday night and sit one game ahead of the Washington Commanders for the No. 6 seed in the NFC playoff race.

Green Bay finishes out the season with games against Vikings and Bears.
