Eagles Fans Will Love CJ Gardner-Johnson Even More After Nick Sirianni’s Latest Remarks-HN

After getting kicked out of the game in Week 16, Philadelphia Eagles safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson made up for his mistakes in Week 17’s win over the Dallas Cowboys.

Gardner-Johnson intercepted Cowboys quarterback Cooper Rush two times, including one for a touchdown.

His efforts certainly didn’t go unnoticed and head coach Nick Sirianni had a lot of great things to say about the veteran and how he responded on Sunday.

“You saw the game today. I thought he responded awesome,” Sirianni said. “We talk a lot about dog mentality, and what dog mentality is, is learning from your past mistakes, but putting them in the past and being able to focus completely on where you’re at right now. That won’t only serve him well in football, but it will also serve him well in life to be able to do that through the ups and downs of life. I was just really proud of him and how he responded today, how he played today. I actually saw him breaking up a couple things out there today of some interactions between players. He’s a special dude.”

Gardner-Johnson has now played two seasons under Sirianni, who has said that No. 8 is a “special” player who reminds him a lot of himself when it comes to emotions.

“My two years with Chauncey, I just think he’s special,” Sirianni said. “I think he’s a special guy that loves this game of football, loves his teammates, loves the people in the building. I saw him giving presents to the entire cafeteria staff this week. This guy is a special guy. You can ask him what he got them. I don’t want to give that. They can talk about that if they want to.”

Gardner-Johnson has racked up six interceptions and 12 passes defended so far and there is still one more game and a playoff run left to add more to the stat sheet to make it a career-best year for him.
