Overcoming the Challenge: Cowboys’ Dak Prescott Officially Speaks Out About Future Plans.

The Dallas Cowboys are having a nightmare 2024 campaign. Fresh off three consecutive 12-win seasons, Dallas endured injuries and poor play this season that resulted in a 7-9 record going into the final week of the season.

Quarterback Dak Prescott was asked directly about the future of the team.

Dak Prescott attended Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday. After undergoing season-ending surgery to repair the right hamstring he injured on Nov. 3 in Atlanta, Dallas Cowboys franchise quarterback has attended every home and road game since.

After the game, he was asked a pretty tough question:

He spoke with a small group of reporters as he headed to the team buses following the Cowboys’ 41-7 loss to the Eagles, which dropped Dallas to 7-9 with one game remaining.

“Nobody plans to lose,” he said of the disappointing season. “Nobody plans to have a losing season. You expect playoffs every year. You expect to win this division.

“It sucks. It’s frustrating.”

In Prescott’s nine seasons in Dallas, the Cowboys have now missed the playoffs four times. While he’s under contract for four more seasons, most of the team’s coaching staff isn’t signed beyond the end of this season. That includes head coach Mike McCarthy.

Prescott said he’s “obviously a promoter” of bringing back McCarthy. But Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones has given no indication if he plans to extend McCarthy or go in another direction.

“It’s tough to probably get your job done and do your job with all that hanging over your head,” Prescott said. “But credit to him, credit to his professionalism and really his coaching style of being able to get guys ready to play and go out there and finish and take pride in what we finish and what we put on tape.”

Here is a look at Prescott’s stats with Dallas:
