The tennis world has been buzzing about the partnership between Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray this year. The latter took a well-deserved family break on a skiing holiday which saw him being absent from Djokovic’s court side at the Brisbane International. Both players have now engaged themselves taking digs at each other.

Djokovic shocked tennis fans after appointing Murray as his coach in November ahead of the 2025 Australian Open. However, Djokovic decided to compete at the Brisbane International as a warm-up tournament. Unfortunately, the pre-planned tournament coincided with Murray’s vacation with his family.

On Tuesday (December 31), Djokovic defeated Rinky Hijikata in straight sets in the opening match at Brisbane. Following the win, he was asked where Murray was, and he said that he was skiing with his family and then added that he hoped he didn’t get injured.

The following day, Murray then responded to Djokovic’s advise with a video of him skiing over a not-so-steep mound of snow and a hilarious comment.

However, Djokovic will be on the court on Thursday (January 2) for his second-round match against Gael Monfils at the Brisbane International. The World No.7 and Nick Kyrgios exited the doubles of the tournament after losing to Nikola Mektic and Michael Venus in the Round of 16.

Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray were fierce rivals on the court for the last 20 years, but their friendship remained strong. Djokovic hired Murray to help him revive his game after he ended the 2024 season without a title. They are going to team up for the 2025 Australian Open, which starts on January 12.

After Djokovic’s win against Rinky Hijikata in the first round of the Brisbane International, the Serbian revealed what Murray will add to him game.

Djokovic is hoping to clinch his 100th tour-level title in Brisbane and also his 25th Grand Slam at the Australian Open. He finished last year with a 37-9 win-loss record.
