The NFL announced their Pro Bowl rosters on Thursday, and the San Francisco 49ers saw four of their players earn a spot, despite their disappointing season.

Defensive end Nick Bosa, tight end George Kittle, linebacker Fred Warner, and fullback Kyle Juszczyk were the team’s four selections. In addition, defensive back Deommodore Lenoir, quarterback Brock Purdy, left tackle Trent Williams, and defensive end Leonard Floyd were selected as Pro Bowl alternates.

Bosa made the Pro Bowl for the fourth straight season, and 2025 is his fifth overall in six seasons in the NFL. His lone year without a Pro Bowl came due to his torn ACL injury sustained back during the 2020-21 season.

Bosa, who has played in 13 games this year, has 52 tackles, nine sacks, one interception, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one pass breakup. His nine sacks lead the team and are tied for fifth in the NFC.

He made the Pro Bowl despite missing nearly a month this season while dealing with various hip and oblique injuries.

Kittle has arguably been the league’s best tight end in 2024, leading the team with 76 receptions for 1,079 yards and eight touchdowns. His statistics are among the best at the position, even though he’s missed two games, as he ranks third in receiving yards and second in touchdowns among tight ends.

For Kittle, 2025 will be his fourth straight Pro Bowl and sixth overall, as he eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark for the second straight year in his career.

Warner earned his third-straight Pro Bowl appearance after a season where he’s accumulated 123 tackles, seven pass breakups, four forced fumbles, two interceptions, one sack, and one defensive touchdown.

Warner has played in every game this season, despite dealing with a broken bone in his ankle since Week 5. He was even an early candidate for Defensive Player of the Year before his injury and still managed to find a way to earn a Pro Bowl appearance as the starter with Philadelphia’s Zack Baun being the other selection.

Juszczyk is making the Pro Bowl for a ninth consecutive season, which are the most ever for a fullback. The last eight have been with the 49ers, as he’s been used as a blocker who can leak out to catch passes, hauling in 17 receptions for 151 yards this season, which is the most for any fullback in the NFL thus far.

Looking at the alternates, Trent Williams was named one after making the Pro Bowl in each of his last 11 seasons in the NFL. Philadelphia’s Lane Johnson, Detroit’s Penei Sewell, and Tampa Bay’s Tristan Wirfs were the three Pro Bowl selections. Williams has missed considerable time this season, playing in just 10 games while dealing with a high-ankle injury, and is not expected to play in the season finale.

A breakout player this season, Deommodore Lenoir was named a Pro Bowl alternate after a season where he was arguably San Francisco’s most consistent defensive player. Lenoir had two interceptions, while allowing a career-high passer rating of just 71.4, working primarily in the nickel for the 49ers.

Brock Purdy earned a Pro Bowl alternate selection one year after leading the NFL in several passing categories, throwing for 3,864 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions through 15 games this season. He also rushed for a career-high 323 yards and five touchdowns.

It wasn’t as strong of a year for Purdy in comparison to his elite 2023 season, as the 49ers dealt with a bevy of injuries and inconsistencies across the board, including at the quarterback position. Still, he’ll be considered a Pro Bowl alternate in 2025, with a chance to make the game if Detroit’s Jared Goff, Minnesota’s Sam Darnold, or Washington’s Jayden Daniels makes the Super Bowl.

Lastly, defensive end Leonard Floyd also made it as a Pro Bowl alternate, recording 39 tackles, 8.5 sacks, and a forced fumble thus far this year. After a slow start to the season, Floyd really came along during a four-game stretch, recording 5.5 sacks from Weeks 10-13, stepping up when Nick Bosa missed some time.
