Deommodore Lenoir is unhappy with being listed as a mere alternate for the Pro Bowl despite putting up impressive numbers this season for the San Francisco 49ers. Recently it was announced that George Kittle, Kyle Juszczyk, Nick Bosa and Fred Warner will be representing the 49ers in the Pro Bowl. Meanwhile, Lenoir was listed as an alternate between Brock Purdy, Leonard Floyd, and Trent Williams.
The San Francisco 49ers are definitely struggling this NFL season and are last in the NFC West with a current 6-10 record. The Los Angeles Rams are presently reigning in the table with ten wins and six defeats. The 49ers are desperate to shake off their three-game losing streak, their latest loss coming against the Detroit Lions, 40-34.
“Highway Robbery Smh.” Deommodore Lenoir responded to the post.
Lenoir is definitely one of the best players in the San Francisco unit right now. This season, the cornerback has managed 53 solo tackles with a pair of interceptions. In his latest appearance against the Detroit Lions, Lenoir managed five tackles and assisted four in the losing effort.
While his numbers seem to be pretty solid right now, Lenoir admitted that he once thought his career was doomed. The 25-year-old joined the San Francisco 49ers back in 2021 and played college football for the Oregon Ducks before that.
Deommodore Lenoir To Play For San Francisco 49ers For Quite A Long Time
About a month ago, it was announced that Deommodore Lenoir will be playing for the San Francisco 49ers for another five years after extending his contract. The team had apparently agreed to a five-year $92 million contract extension with Lenoir. Lenoir’s performance has been stellar this season, and also crucial for an already struggling 49ers.
Despite San Francisco’s offense badly languishing this season, the team has managed to put up an impressive defense with players like Lenoir heading this area. With the brand new contract, Deommodore Lenoir is 12th in terms of cornerbacks in the league when it comes to salary. His base salary was $3.116 million and the current one is drastically higher. This goes to show the value that Lenoir has brought to the team.
With the team relying on him essentially to take care of the defense, it is understandable that Lenoir will be irked for not being voted to the Pro Bowl list. However, with the contract extension, there is always next year for the same.
