GOODNEWS: Packers get Jordan Love and several other key players back from injury ahead of Eagles playoff game -kid

The Green Bay Packers opened their week of preparation with positive pieces of news ahead of the wild card round game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Quarterback Jordan Love practiced on Wednesday, despite leaving early during the game versus the Chicago Bears in Week 18 with an elbow injury.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (10) throws a pass during the first quarter against the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field.

Green Bay opened only the stretch part of practice to the media, so reporters couldn’t see Love throwing the football. It’s unclear how much work Love will do, but the Packers have to release their first injury report of the week on Wednesday.

More positives

Beyond Jordan Love, several other players were at practice as well, a good indication about their availability for the Eagles game.

Wide receiver Romeo Doubs (illness), safety Evan Williams (quadricep), linebacker Quay Walker (ankle), and defensive end Brenton Cox (foot), who missed the Bears game, were back at practice.

Backup quarterback Malik Willis, who suffered a thumb injury during the game, also participated.

Besides wide receiver Christian Watson, who suffered an ACL injury and will soon be placed on injured reserve, the only players on the 53-man roster who did not practice are safety Zayne Anderson (concussion) and defensive tackle TJ Slaton (undisclosed).

Other side

Meanwhile, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was back at practice for the Eagles. It’s the first time he practices since he suffered a concussion against the Washington Commanders on December 22. He’s missed the last two games, against the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants.

While Hurts is still in the concussion protocol, the fact that he was able to practice four days before the game is a positive indication for the Eagles.
