BREAKING: Steelers’ best offensive weapon as of late is safe for the playoffs after flu like symptoms.THANHDUNG

Health is wealth all the time, but especially in the NFL playoffs.

With the Baltimore Ravens going into the game as double-digit favorites, Pittsburgh needs all the help it can get.

We found out how the team projects to look in the final practice report of the week:

Steelers injury report Wild Card Round (THU)

Observations

  • Donte Jackson: A re-occurring back issue has sidelined Jackson recently, as he continues to be plagued by what the team is calling spasms and a pinched nerve, hampering his fast-twitch muscle fibers. His development as the week goes on will be telling but full participation to start is a good sign and he ended the week as a full participant
  • Mason McCormick: Despite suffering a broken hand, McCormick told the media on Tuesday that he is optimistic about playing and will do so without a cast if he does. McCormick is listed as questionable
  • Cam Heyward: Heyward told reporters after the Cincinnati Bengals game that he was dealing with the flu, which was confirmed by Mike Tomlin on Monday. Heyward doesn’t have a designation for Saturday
  • Chris Boswell: The star of the Steelers point scoring, it seems that Cam Heyward’s flu spread to Boswell. On Friday, he was listed as a DNP but carries no designation.

“A couple things to update. Cam Heyward, obviously, is sick. I think he stated so after the game, [I] gave him the day off in an effort to put that behind him so it doesn’t affect his preparation as we lean in on this game. Mason McCormick has a broken hand. He’ll be sized for a cast and or a brace and check functionality there. And so his participation in the quality his participation will kind of be an indication of his potential availability as we push forward.”

“Donte Jackson was held out last week with ongoing back issues,” added Coach Tomlin. “He feels good this morning, but again, we’ll watch him throughout the course of the week and see what his specific participation does in terms of the possibility of his inclusion…

“…Then there’s some other bumps and bruises associated with play that may affect some people at the early portions of the week, but I don’t think will be a major factor when it comes to dividing the labor up and determining who plays and who doesn’t at the latter part of the week.”
