The Kansas City Chiefs are emailing a survey to gather feedback on potentially building a new stadium or doing more renovations to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Back in April, residents of Jackson County, Missouri – where the Chiefs and the MLB’s Kansas City Royals reside – voted no to a sales tax that would have helped to fund a new downtown ballpark for the Royals, along with renovations to Arrowhead Stadium.

Since then, the Chiefs have gone back to the drawing board to decide what they should do when their lease expires at Truman Sports Complex in 2031. In November, the Chiefs hired CSL International to conduct market research for both a new stadium and renovations.

That company will now send hundreds of thousands of emails to get opinions from local residents and anybody who has attended a Chiefs game or other events at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs are reportedly looking at options in both Missouri and Kansas. Fans who do not receive an email but would like to participate can find the links at www.chiefs.com/stadium/surveys.

There you will find two surveys, one for Arrowhead Stadium renovations, and one for a new stadium. Hopefully the Chiefs and Jackson County residents can find some common ground and agree to resolution. Arrowhead Stadium was last renovated in 2010 and is the third-oldest stadium in the NFL, opening in 1972.
