Midway through the third quarter, the Packers were down 10-0 but driving, with the ball at the Eagles’ 23-yard line. On 2nd-and-3, quarterback Jordan Love dropped back and threw a pass to the back left corner of the end zone.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs (87).

Love wasn’t able to connect with his intended wide receiver, Romeo Doubs, who went up for it despite tight coverage from two Eagles defenders. As Doubs came down, he landed hard, hitting the back of his head on the turf.

Doubs was wearing a guardian cap over his helmet, designed to provide extra protection against head injuries.

Unfortunately, the impact left him down on the field for several moments. Teammates gathered around him, taking a knee as trainers checked on him. Eventually, Doubs was able to stand but needed assistance from two trainers to make his way to the locker room to be checked for a concussion.

Doubs left the game for good after recording two catches for 13 yards.

The third-year wideout from Nevada was a fourth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Heading into the game, Dothe, 6-foot-2, 204-pounder, ranked as the Packers’ fourth-leading receiver, tallying 46 catches for 601 yards and four touchdowns during the regular season.
