Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson hopes to return to the team in 2025, but no discussions have taken place just yet on that front. When talking to the media on Monday, Wilson said the team knows that he would love to return to Pittsburgh after his first season with the group.
Nothing has been set in concrete yet, and the Steelers still have to discuss their plans for Wilson and his future.

“Yeah, that’s the plan. I love it here and everything else. I think we have a great football team. Obviously, it didn’t end the way we wanted it to, and I think there’s a lot more to do,” Wilson said. “I think they’ve known that I’ve always wanted to be here and play here, but it is also a process. We haven’t had those meetings yet. So we’ll have those and go from there.”
Wilson finished the season with a 6-6 record as the starter but with 16 touchdowns and five interceptions in the regular season. As the starter, Wilson was able to unlock the deep ball, but the intermediate part of the field lay dormant for nearly the entire season with Wilson at the helm.
Head coach Mike Tomlin said that he did not give any thought to the macro view of the quarterback room after their loss to the Ravens. When he addresses the media later this week, the team’s plans for the future will become clearer.
The Steelers are one of just two teams that will head into the offseason without a quarterback under contract. Wilson was the starter and is likely the favorite to return.
