Patrick and Brittany Mahomes welcomed their third child into the world on January 12.
It’s official — Brittany and Patrick Mahomes’ third child was born safe and sound on January 12, 2025. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback announced this in collaboration with his wife on Instagram on January 13, with the caption: “•Golden Raye Mahomes• 1/12/25🎀✨.”

Patrick and Brittany Mahomes welcomed their third child this weekend, a girl—naming her Golden Raye.
The Mahomes kids now: Sterling, Bronze & Golden.
Golden Raye will join sister and first daughter Sterling Skye Mahomes, as well as brother and lone son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, as Patrick and Brittany continue to grow their family. The couple also has two dogs named Silver and Steele — and yes, the names all follow a theme.
From a football perspective, the timing also couldn’t have been more perfect as the Chiefs were on a bye this weekend. Now, with Golden Raye and Brittany both happy and healthy after a successful birth, Patrick Mahomes can focus on KC’s Divisional Round matchup with the Houston Texans.
According to CBS Sports sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson, the plan was for Golden Raye to be born on Sunday, January 12.
“No one happier to get back to KC than Patrick Mahomes,” Wolfson posted on January 6, following travel delays brought on by Denver weather.
“[Mahomes] told me his wife Brittany is due to give birth to their 3rd child on Sunday,” Wolfson explained. “If she doesn’t give birth by then she will be induced Monday. There was [definitely] extra motivation for Patrick to get that bye week.”
Based on Wolfson’s inside info, everything appears to have gone as planned for the Mahomes family this weekend, or at least as close to it as possible.
The Mahomes parents are still very young. Patrick just turned 29 years old in September and Brittany is only a few weeks older, celebrating her 29th birthday on August 31, 2024.
In current times, many couples don’t even think about marriage or children until age 30, so the Mahomes family could continue to grow, in theory.
Having said that, Patrick Mahomes hinted that Golden Raye will be the final Mahomes baby while speaking with reporters in July.
“I’m done,” Mahomes said at the time, smiling. “I’ll say that. I said three and I’m done.”
Despite that, the Chiefs QB acknowledged that being a dad is “awesome,” and you never know if plans will change at a later date.
“I always wanted to have kids young,” Mahomes explained. “We’re having our third kid now to join our family, and Brittany does a great job of doing that, and we still go out and enjoy our life and let our kids see these great things.”
If Golden Raye is the last, Bronze and Patrick will be outnumbered three-to-two as the only two boys in the Mahomes household — not including the doggies. It would also limit the two-time MVP quarterback’s chances of an NFL successor to Bronze alone, although Patrick has often talked about his daughter Sterling’s early love for sports.
Perhaps, the next Mahomes family superstar will have a career in the WNBA, the NWSL or a different pro women’s sports league, rather than the NFL.
