UPDATE: Baltimore Ravens receive discouraging update on Pro Bowl WR’s injury status.THANHDUNG

The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wild Card weekend, 28-14, and did it without their best wide receiver.

Now, against the Buffalo Bills, they might have to do so again.

Baltimore Ravens receive discouraging update on Pro Bowl WR's injury status image

Ravens HC John Harbaugh has been non-committal about Zay Flowers’ status for the Divisional round, and reading between the lines, it doesn’t sound like he’s very optimistic. When asked about Flowers’ availability on Monday, he simply responded “We’ll see.”

Flowers’ absence didn’t seem to matter much against the Steelers, where Baltimore’s ground game dominated Pittsburgh’s defense. Derrick Henry ran for 186 yards while QB Lamar Jackson added 81.

In fact, Baltimore’s WR corps on the whole was virtually non-existent, with only a combined 82 receiving yards from wide receivers. Both of the Ravens’ top two pass-catchers were tight ends, Isaiah Likely and Mark Andrews, while Nelson Agholor’s 25 yards on one catch led the way for the wideouts.

The Ravens may be able to get away with that against Pittsburgh, but it’s sure to be a different story as they seek to keep up with an opposing Bills offense that will put up points in bunches — on the road, no less. A healthy Flowers would be massive for Baltimore.

Unfortunately for them, it doesn’t look very likely. If Flowers is unable to go, the Ravens will need their depth to step up in a big way in order to keep their season alive.
