Texans Upset Chiefs Three-Peat Dream In Bold Playoff Prediction-HN

The Kansas City Chiefs are aiming for a historic three-peat, but the Houston Texans shatter that dream.

All season, we have been on the Kansas City Chiefs’ three-peat watch, and through the regular season, Andy Reid’s team raced to a 15-2 record and the No. 1 seed in the AFC.

That is a great position from which to begin the playoff chase.

The Chiefs got an extra week’s rest, are at home, and are ready to roll as the Houston Texans come to Arrowhead Stadium after beating the Los Angeles Chargers 32-12 thanks to a big second half from C.J. Stroud.

But the Chiefs are a different beast compared to the Chargers. In a bold prediction, NFL.com’s Marc Ross has the Texans shattering Kansas City’s attempt at history.

“DeMeco Ryans, C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans rose to the occasion to win a wild-card game for the second consecutive postseason,” Ross writes. “They carry that momentum into Arrowhead Stadium to take on a Chiefs team whose starters haven’t played in over three weeks. That extended rest turns into rust, and the Texans take advantage — ultimately upsetting the No. 1 seed to advance to the franchise’s first-ever AFC Championship Game.”

Could we realistically see that happening? Certainly, and considering the Chiefs only beat the Texans by one score in Week 16, a 27-19 win, there’s every chance that Houston could cause an upset.

But the Chiefs seem to flick a switch in the playoffs since Mahomes became the starter and are undefeated in the Divisional Round of the postseason under his guidance.

Will that end this season? Can the Texans be the first team to slay Mahomes at this point of the playoffs? While it might be outlandish, this is the NFL, so never say never.
