There has been growing debate about whether tennis has become monotonous in recent years, as the younger generation looks for more entertaining sports options. Novak Djokovic, a strong advocate for rebranding the sport, recently emphasized that tennis must embrace change to attract a new wave of fans.

Tennis has made minimal changes to the way the game is being presented on the court and for fans viewing live. Djokovic, who is currently playing at the Australian Ope, has had to play for more than two hours on three occasions. The former World No.1 said that the length of the matches may be too long for the young generation.

He added that the tennis organizers have to create a bit of entertainment during timeouts just like the NBA and the Super Bowl of the NFL does.

Djokovic went on to suggest that these innovations should only be considered at certain events, as he believes that the traditions at Wimbledon should not be tempered with as they are the heritage of the tennis event and the sport itself.

Novak Djokovic clashed with a spectator during his third-round win against Tomas Machac at the Australian Open. The Serbian revealed that they abused him in the middle of the match but didn’t get to him as he composed himself to produce an impressive 6-1, 6-4, 6-4 victory over the Czech Republic star.

During the aforementioned press conference, Djokovic revealed that the fan who he clashed with continued with his act for a long time in the match and might have been drunk.

Djokovic will face Jiri Lehecka in the fourth round of the Australian Open. The 37-year-old is bidding to win his 25th Grand Slam and 100th tour-level career title in the tournament. If he defeats the Czech Republic star, he will probably face Carlos Alcaraz in the quarterfinals.
