Texans player caught on camera throwing helmet, pushing coach after he yelled at him during clash with Chiefs -kid

The Kansas City Chiefs began their divisional round matchup against the Houston Texans with a bang after wide receiver Nikko Remigio returned the opening kickoff 63 yards to start the game.

Texans' Kris Boyd flings helmet, gets penalized and then shoves his coach on first play vs. Chiefs

Texans cornerback Kris Boyd tackled Remigio and forced a fumble in the process that was recovered by Kansas City’s Samaje Perine. What followed next was inexcusable.

In Boyd’s celebration, he took his helmet off and threw it onto the field, which resulted in an unsportsmanlike penalty. That moved the ball half the distance to the goal, the Texans’ 13-yard line.

In response to the penalty, Texans special teams coordinator Frank Ross was seen on the sideline yelling at Boyd. As the 28-year-old defender approached his coach, he shoved Ross hard in the chest with two hands.

The Chiefs were unable to advance the football on their drive. Harrison Butker converted a 32-yard field goal, giving Kansas City a quick 3-0 lead to start the game.

Boyd was a seventh-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings in 2019.

The 28-year-old appeared in 17 games for the Texans this season, contributing mostly on special teams. He has eight tackles and a fumble recovery this year.
