The Minnesota Vikings could be losing multiple coaches during the offseason, and three of them just completed interviews on Friday.
- DC Brian Flores: 1st interview for New York Jets head coaching job
- QB Coach Josh McCown: 1st interview for New York Jets head coaching job
- Asst OC/QB Coach: 2nd interview for Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator job
Vikings could lose multiple coaches
It’s not a surprise that the Vikings have multiple coaches that are being targeted by other teams. They finished 14-3 and were excellent across the board, including having a chance in week 18 to win the NFC North and earn the number one seed on top of that.
McCown is an interesting one. He’s never been an offensive coordinator in the National Football League before but is getting head coaching interviews. Luckily for the Vikings, ESPN’s Adam Schefter said on The Pat McAfee Show that McCown would only leave Minnesota for a head coaching job.
Flores doing interviews was to be expected. Will he get a job with his lawsuit that’s currently open with the NFL? That will be the last hurdle to clear.
The other tough one to quantify is Udinski. He’s a 28 year old wunderkind that has been given a lot of credit and praise for his work with both Sam Darnold and J.J. McCarthy. After firing Ryan Grubb, the Seahawks are looking for a replacement and Udinski getting the job would be a well deserved next step for him.
Right now, the Vikings haven’t lost any coaches, but that could soon be changing.
